Ukrainian Gift
of Life, Inc. (UGoL) programs have been established to fulfill the UGoL ultimate goal of fostering
self-sufficiency in the area of pediatric cardiology in Ukraine.
Operation
CHILD CARDIO CARE Ukraine (OpCCCareUA):

UGoL finds sponsors for specific
children whose surgeries can be performed in Ukraine but whose families cannot
afford cost of surgery
·
Children
and their families benefit while medical professionals in Ukraine have
increased opportunities to utilize their skills
·
UGoL encourages one-on-one relationship
between sponsor and child’s family
·
OpCCCareUA is administered in alliance with
the CARDIO Foundation and Dr. Mykola Konyk by UGOL program director, Stephanie
Andre

Pediatric
Cardiologists Dr. Yuri Ivaniv in Ukraine and Dr. Henry Issenberg in the US
provide case screenings
·
UGoL brings children to America for
cardiac surgeries not currently performed in Ukraine
·
UGoL provides a translator and other
support for child, parent and host family
·
OpCCCareUS is currently administered primarily
in alliance with Rotary District 7490’s Gift of Life Program and Childrens
Hospital at Montefiore in New York

Opportunities
for CARDIO Observation and Training (OpCOT) UGoL fosters projects to provide skill
and technology enhancement for medical professionals in Ukraine, i.e.:

for anesthesiologist and pediatric cardiologist recently provided by Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with logistics direction provided by UGOL
program director, Theodore Kurman
·
Text
translation and distribution of a leading diagnostic tool to 800 clinics
throughout Ukraine funded by members of Ukrainian American Medical Association
·

Library developed at Lviv hospital
